For a growing company absolutely amazing!
Reviewed on 20/5/2019
Time saver and is allowing us to grow our company and our profits faster.
Pros
Our company is growing at 40-60% a year and we are so busy it is almost impossible to get someone trained to take off the workload and we have added 7 employees in the last 9 months. It has been essential to have to do the training once and then send everyone through it saving my manager a ton of time. It has been easy for us to setup tasks for the new hires to do as well as to have comprehensive tests that really get the new hires engaged.
Cons
It could be easier to install videos and photos.
Response from Trainual
Thanks for the review, Tony! We're working on an in-app video recorder, which should make adding videos a breeze -- Stay tuned!

Trainual for Finance Based business

Very helpful in making sense and giving organization and structure to a remote business. Wonderful place to collect and store info and training.
Pros
I like the search function to find tasks. I also like the presentation or layout and structure of templates/design.
Cons
I struggle with finding the best place to search for what I am looking for whether it is a process or training. This may be due to us still in stages of fleshing out the content

Feedback on program
Reviewed on 16/5/2022
When others are assigned and completing a course it works fine. Then when I go to create a course, I have issues with the formatting because of it changing as I am creating.
Pros
The thing that I like most about the program is that you can have multiple people participate in the same curse at the same time.
Cons
The thing that I like the least is the formatting of this program. I have issues with the font and size changing while I am creating a course. That makes it very difficult to create a course and adds time to the process.

Keeping your instructions up to date is a breeze!
Reviewed on 27/2/2023
This is a great way to remind yourself of how to complete a infrequent task or a task that is usually a assigned to someone else. If you are unsure of how to execute a procedure, Trainual has you covered. As long as the author has written good instructions, following them to complete a task should be as easy as going 'step by step. If you find a flaw while going along, that can be corrected without any issues (such as starting from scratch)Keeping your instructions up to date in Trainual is a breeze! And
Pros
Trainual works very well as a living, breathing document. You can update/change/add to/delete your documents as needed. We are a growing company so our procedures are growing with us. Trainual allows us to update our task instructions as they change. No excuses on not knowing what to do in any situation.
Cons
Hard to find a Con - maybe the only thing is that there are many options on how you format your post. Everyone has a unique way to spell out their instruction tasks, so uniformity is a not kept within the company.

Does what it needs to.
Reviewed on 29/9/2019
Overall it is great and has greatly cut down the time to onboard a new employee.
Pros
I like the simplicity of trainual, especially the dashboard and the email reminders that content has been updated. Building lessons is fairly easy as is creating tasks. Getting my entire company to move over the platform was fairly easy, as was setting up the invites and setting individual user levels. Once training lessons are created, they are easy to update and keep current. I like how you can both link and embed video and really, create any type of layout you want. That is nice and I like having the ability to have certain layouts for certain kind of content. Embedding Loom videos has been a super easy process.
Cons
The only con to Trainual is when it comes to editing the overall structure of training. It can be a bit confusing adding new content from the subject area (but once in the lesson it is super easy). I just think the initial contents could be easier to navigate.
Response from Trainual
Glad we helped you cut down onboarding time, Michael! Thanks for your feedback around our subject editor too -- we're working on a big project to make this a lot easier.

Trainual is perfect for our needs
Reviewed on 30/5/2023
Our experience with Trainual has been very good. We operate a business that includes many detailed tasks as part of our daily operations. Trainual allows us a database to which employees may refer for instructions on how to do tasks they only do once in a while without having to go to a manager for a re-training.
Pros
We love how Trainual allows us to add video clips, etc. as part of the training modules. We also love that it is searchable and employee training progress is trackable.
Cons
I think that sometimes the roles of Trainual users can be a little confusing . . . Who can change what items, who approves and publishes items, etc. But that may be confusing to me only because I haven't written any modules myself in a long time.

It Works for Us

Pros
I like the user-friendliness of the application interface & the ease of delivering a seamless, high-quality user experience. I appreciate the solution's flexibility, allowing us to leverage it as a LMS & a KD. Based on budget, this solution was a solid win for us.
Cons
I was not a fan of the lack of user & content data provided. I would like to see more robust reporting on user data, internal SEO data & content efficacy. For example, it would be beneficial to be able to see data on content access frequency, average duration on-page, most frequently searched key terms, ranking info, top viewed content, etc.

It's been effective in keeping all info gathered in one location and making it easily accessible & easy to train new people.
Pros
I love how easy it is to use and stay organized and help others get trained.
Cons
I wish there was a search bar that when a keyword was input, it would show exactly where in the modules that keyword shows up in a list. That would be super helpful in updating old information once it's not relevant rather than having to go through all modules to see where information may be outdated.

The Thing You Didn't Know You Needed!
Reviewed on 14/2/2022
We absolutely love Trainual: as a company, a team, and a product. It has become the foundation of our company and the place that we are working so hard to get all of the information. As we build this plane while flying it, we appreciate how easy it is to write down what we are doing so it is easier next time. Prior to Trainual, sometimes I felt like MacGruber holding things together with a paperclip and a gum wrapper based on my memory or other team member's institutional knowledge and now we can capture it all, sometimes in the moment. We plan to be using Trainual indefinitely.
Pros
There are many things that I like the most about this software that have to do with features, but I think the features would not be useful if the platform wasn't designed with a foundation of a solid understanding of how small businesses function and scale. So, to start with, I love the philosophy and approach of Trainual as a company and the team as humans. Trickling down from there, the platform is designed that way - it is clear it is flexibly designed, but kept intuitive, and thoughtfully updated with feature requests that have the greatest impact across their users. The organization of the content makes it easy to jump right in to get something created along with the template gallery helping to streamline it all.
Cons
I have two suggestions that are specific to how we use the platform, and I have submitted these are requests so I know they are in the hopper: 1) make the directory accessible through the mobile app. Often times when we hire new people, that is what we want them to be able to access and they are doing everything from their phones before they are in our workplace. 2) update the time stamping to track each time a subject/topic/step is completed for each employee. More Specifically, when you have to provide documentation to the department of labor for unemployment claims they may request evidence of the days/times that you asked someone to complete and then review a policy. In trainual, only the reviewed date is saved so you lose the evidence of the initial completion date. We have been in this pickle twice, and I would like to not to have to track all completions and reassignments outside of Trainual for compliance reasons.

Trainual is a game changer!
Reviewed on 9/5/2022
Trainual is a game changer in veterinary hospitals! Communicating and standardizing processes has always plagued veterinary managers and this program allows everything to be documented and instructed in one place.
Pros
This software is well organized for learners, users and managers. Team members love that it can be used on their mobile phone for learning and to reference material when needed. I love the search function! I also appreciate that Trainual has stayed responsive to rolling out new improvements.
Cons
I wish there were more interactive activities available for the users. We use it heavily as a learning system, as well as a place to document SOP's, and we miss some of the interactive features that we had in other programs like Nearpod. The loss of this is still worth it to have the streamlined design and reporting features that Trainual offers.

Thus far it has been a welcomed addition to our training program. Wil Pagod has been there every step of the way to help me navigate when I've had questions.
Pros
As a training coordinator it gives me flexibility. It does not replace face to face training. But is an addition to the training program. It allows members to complete training on their time and gives us the ability to easily update said training.

A Remote Workspace Game-Changer
Reviewed on 16/8/2022
Overall, our company would not have experienced the fast-paced growth we have today without the Trainual platform. The ease of use and practicality has increased our efficiency and quality of work from new hires.
Pros
As a remote company, Trainual provides a one-stop platform for all training material. I like that I can add written materials, videos, and images/documents to create a cohesive and user-friendly training resource. Using Trainual allows our company to keep training consistent and gets our new hires trained much more quickly. Instead of pulling a team member for one-on-one training for the basics, we can get them started on Trainual, then transition to on-the-job training much more effectively.
Cons
There are certain features that would make assigning tasks more efficient but with the proactive updates, I expect Trainual will come up with a solution soon enough. I would like to see where I can create profiles with the subjects needed for each role, then assign users to the role instead of assign each individual subject.

Game Changing Training

Trainual has been the most valuable addition we've made to our franchise network in the past year. I recommend it often.
Pros
The Trainual platform is easy to use and has allowed us to scale our growth that would have been impossible with traditional training systems.
Cons
We need better testing and certification options. The testing isn't robust enough. Users need certifications to show they've achieved a certain level. This is important for motivation. It seems like an easy add that would add a lot of value. We're currently looking for testing and certification solutions from 3rd parties, but Trainual should be able to provide them quite easily.

Makes on-boarding new team members easy for small business
Reviewed on 19/11/2020
Bring a small business, each team member wears many hats. Our business is also, thankfully, BOOMING so the need to add team members and keep up with a fast paced business is really difficult.
Once all of our policies and procedures were on Trainual, and it did not take long to format and upload, an on-boarding process that would take me away a work day for me (the Director of Operations) was as easy as having the new hire in my office with an iPad learning while I worked.
Also, sending out memos to team members and tracking them down to sign was eliminated because of the easy to edit and upload software. Our SOP has never been so up-to-date!
Pros
I really enjoy how this software has made updating standard operating procedures so simple. Whenever something is edited it sends a notification out to the team and I just need to give them a due date, this way I know that all information is available to everyone.
Cons
I wish I did not have to pay for the premium membership to do screen recording. Our business pays for Zoom so we just do screen recording through there, but uploading videos are also a process as you need to pay for a account or upload to YouTube to manage videos.

Recommended if you have many employees doing the same role and you have high turnover
Reviewed on 17/3/2023
My overall experience: If I had to do it again for my department, and I had a choice, I would choose not do it and stick to Google docs. But I believe the time-savings does pay off for other departments with many employees, high turnover and frequent training needs. So for the company overall, it's likely the right decision.
Pros
Trainual helps keep our training organized. For 7 years we kept our policies and procedures in Google Docs. Now we keep them in Trainual AND in Google Docs.
Cons
Very time-consuming to recreate training and add create new trainings in Trainual. And very time-consuming to have to complete a ton of training assigned to me because of the new system. This time could have been spent on achieving business results. In my department, we don't have a lot of turnover. So I didn't see the benefits (i.e. time savings) of having a learning management system. I did feel the pain of having to complete a lot of additional work to get Trainual implemented, even though I had a lot of internal help.
Response from Trainual
Hey Lynne! Thanks so much for your candid feedback here. Documenting processes can be time-consuming. That's why we're always looking for ways to help you save time in this space. Cons
There is a completion report that shows your progress vs the whole company's progress that sometimes shows a near completion on the material assigned to you even though it shows all the material you are assigned to as complete. It is very minor.

Trainual Review
Reviewed on 25/8/2022
Trainual is a great platform for the value. The reason the system did not work for us for our training content was due to the lack of reporting capabilities.
Pros
It was very easy to create/implement content for the site. The ability to use the system mobile is great as well.
Cons
The reporting leaves a bit to be desired (not very robust functionality). There is also no back-up system for content that may be accidentally deleted (it is lost for good). The levels of access could also be improved; it would be helpful for some to view answers in the system without having to go to each individual user to look up this information.
