I like the security setup, and the ability to export databases and configurations.

The Microsoft licensing structure for SQL is a bit odd. Some options are available for dual-core but not for single-core. Why is that?

It comes with a free version. Database is secure. It's reliable.

Product support is abit slow and expensive

One of the things I like the most about SQL is the fact that most of my industry works with it, so its easy and convenient to use and gather workflows that suit us and implement them in new projects. Other than that, I haven had any issue with SQL so far. Its robust, is fast, and simply works for every task we use it.

Maybe this is something general for databases, but we usually struggle with Hardware when working with big SQL databases, since SQL will use everything it has available in the server.

It is economical , has most of the functionality db need to have .

If you are working with older versions of the sever it can be daunting

Great resource to utilize information securely

Sometimes their are glitches and we are booted from the server

There wasn’t anything about the program that I didn’t like.

It is straight forward and is a relational database.

It could have more modern syntax updates.

Querying the db is easy and storage is also well maintained. Db support is also great. Overall integration to Microsoft sql server is also easy and works best

If one is using the outdated type it gives worst experience ever.

In a Windows Server world, MS SQL Server integrates easily on top of Windows Servers and is very easy to use if you have any SQL experience. The power it gives in a data-centric world is what I like most!

It is somewhat cumbersome to get data from a SQL query grid easily into an Excel format.

Microsoft SQL Server has an activity monitor that will show any errors. I have been using Microsoft SQL Server for 12 years and I have no complaints. Microsoft SQL Server is great, as long as the user is familiar enough with it

Difficult licensing process that’s always changing

They incorporate other softwares which make your job easier such as SQL complete and SQL source control.

Sometimes there's access issues or connections issues.

After getting used to this tool at my master's degree, I was able work on projects with a greater scale where advanced data analytics is reqiured

I find this tool, I do not know the exact reason but, still old school in terms the interface, I suppose it could have been more easy to navigate around.

Retrieving and accessing data is efficient through Microsoft SQL Server. It is very secure and it has really competent features and applications

Support with Microsoft SQL Server can be better, time to resolution takes longer than expected

It's a hugely powerful piece of software, it's extremely stable, reliable and I don't think any other software would be capable of delivering the same solution

It does have it's faults - the sql query editor can be moody at times, I think the menu structures are needlessly complicated and worded. These are minor gripes

Managing sql server can be challenging for beginners

It is convenient to use and to set up. In comparison to others, Microsoft provides a wide range of functions. My everyday working routine made things easier.

I don't have any dislikes about the tool. All of the features fit flawlessly.

There are other databases with greater processing capacity, scaling, etc. However SQL server is a safe bet. You know that what it does it does well, and it is backed by a tech giant that will offer you support if something happens.

In general there are better databases than sql server today, there is little innovation and changes between its different versions.

It is flexible, yet robust. Other storage solutions come and go, but SQL survives

Microsoft SQL Server is the go-to software for my Data storage needs, it gives great UI and data management services like monitoring of the server SQL server itself, reporting, and data visualization.

The isn't much I don't like about Microsoft SQL Server

Stable DB with everything you need included. Great Microsoft support. Long support of the system, up to 10 years.

There is not mutch to dislike. Only possible thing would be the price. There are free solutions out there.
