Camtasia makes it incredibly easy to record my screen and webcam simultaneously, and the built-in editing tools are powerful enough to create professional-looking videos without any complexity.

The rendering process can be a bit slow, especially for longer videos with high resolutions.

The best thing I like about Camtasia is that it always stays up to date with video creation trends, so that you can always create relevant videos.

If there's a failing, it's simply the learning curve. But really, that's not a failing. It's only because there are so many cool features that it can take a while before you get into the swing of video creation. Once learnt though, it becomes a breeze.

It's optimized for creating videos in which screen recordings of software usage predominate.

Little things, like the inability to reverse a clip (i.e. play it backwards on the timeline). The ability to export the audio to an external program, edit it there, then bring it back in, would be amazing too.

The more you use it the easier it becomes!

Sometimes moving items around on the timeline isn’t easy.

I like Premiere, but it's just too much mojo for the average project and the more intuitive user.

I don't have any complaints, honestly. Just wish I could get a list of best peripherals to use to set up my home studio. I do a lot of trial and error.

Camtasia has been improving a lot over the years and is still offered at a reasonable price. For me, this is a very good mark of quality in a company. I want to be able to trust and rely on a company when I invest time and money to learn their product and get comfortable with. Camtasia is a company that offers me that.
Some online tools might have become more intuitive and easy to use but they don't offer reliable technical support and other services so critical to my work. I like working with Camtasia and I trust the product.

A few years ago, the software was not so stable and was crashing on a regular basis. This very rarely happens now and I never loose anything. So again, they have invested effort in improvement and they listen to their customers' needs.

The ability to edit video was a total game-changer. Otherwise, I may as well just post videos recorded with a phone camera. It allows my videos to be infinitely better than they would be otherwise. The timeline-style editing is great and I now think in those terms when recording.

The 2023 version is not as stable as the old version I had. The old version NEVER crashed (okay, maybe once in five years). 2023… has been known to choke when I try to use and edit large recordings. Have also had some problems with the license key sometimes just… going away and the system not accepting my license key when I re-enter it. Extremely annoying. I’ve had the new version since Nov. and this problem happens about every two months so far.

Camtasia is intuitive and easy to use. I've used other video editing software and Camtasia is my favourite because I can create videos faster. I used an older version for years because it worked just fine. I recently upgraded because there are so many new features that allow me to make even better quality videos

I wish audio editing was part of the program. I use one other program that has an AI editor that removes background noise that I wish was part of Camtasia

Camtasia is an easy, user friendly, quick editor for screen recording and editing. I can assign projects to my team and they can put together a video fairly well with little to no video editing experience.

Lack of options. I would love to see more options in transitions, animations, audio, titles, etc.

I love being able to create videos of different sizes that combine screen capture and video.

It's great for tutorials. I love having the ability to Zoom in and highlight certain areas. It makes it so much more professional, dynamic and easy to follow for the watcher.

I love being able to choose the size of screen capture and the size of the video. Other tools tend to have a video thay is rather small.

I wish there were more free assets to use.

The transitions or behaviors could be improved with more choices.

The background remover doesn’t work all that great. Zoom does a better job. In Camtasia it's not good enough for me to use that feature. I have a cushion behind my back that Camtasia's background remover is having problem with. Zoom, with the same background can remove it without issues.

Easy to pick up and produce good quality videos. As you progress, it's easy to improve and better utilise the many features.

It's very cheap for what it can do.

The user interface is intuitive, which cannot be said of other video editing software I've used.

It has lots of built-in features, making it ideal for beginners, but sometimes I want to customise more than it will allow.

Easy to use and full-featured video editor. It is full package for creating learning videos.
I especially liked the ability to export full HTML page with video player, that can be hosted easily on any webserver and it works great.

Insufficient video export setting - missing mostly HEVC in constant quality (automatic 2-pass)

Lower quality of MacOS version of Camtasia. Should be on par with Windows version.

Camtasia is fairly easy to use, with practice and plenty of tutorials online.

A bit more pricey than other software but does a lot for the video or social media editor or producer.

Can produce videos on your PC. Easy to import audio and video files.

Poor technical support. Software is not backward compatible. Projects created in versions before 2020 (*.camproj) will not open with newer versions. The technical support group is not there on Fridays and the telephone hotline doesn't work. If you buy a Techsmith product, you will need to figure it out on your own.

Intuitive and easy to learn, even if you have not used a video editing software before.

Once I learned it, I wish I had more advanced features to continue my learning.
