The main feature that I cherish in MySQL is the ability of my students to deploy it locally without the complexities of intricate configurations and deployment mechanisms. I used MySQL as part of the Bitnami WAMP stack (MariaDB is now packaged in Bitnami) to get a complete server bundle that is easy for students to deploy and configure. Before I relied in my teaching on a networked Oracle installation that was not that performance efficient and didn't give students the chance to configure the server environment. Moreover, with a networked configuration testing various SQL concepts would be a bit complex compared to having a local database installation.

Changing the open-source license by Oracle was a bit disappointing. MariaDB is a kind of open-source alternative to MySQL with very similar features and architecture.

The performance and scalability of MySQL are outstanding. It's easy to use and integrates well with other software.

The lack of official support and documentation can be frustrating at times. Some advanced features are complex to implement.

Very user friendly and easy to learn and connect

Large datasets are not easily supported and may not be compatible

Despite being available for free, MySQL has numerous functionalities that are also present in commercial products like SQL Server.

The majority of other databases, save for MySQL, offer data transfer between DB and distributed file systems like AWS S3.

Free, easy to install and configure, good support of many programming languages and a big community. The documentation is very detailed.

Lower perfomance than other database options, the monitoring feature can be improved and the configuration for distributed databases should be easier to set

Easy to Impliment,its fast and Accurate,good connectivity with multiple platform,and works everywhere

Large data complexicity,sometimes gets intigration issues with third party applications

The best relational database managment system, the best thing and it´s biggest pro is that it is open source.

No Cons at all, if you are proficient in SQL and the needs of your database is for relational managment, it is for you.

MySQL is one of the most widely used databases, meaning there’s extensive documentation, community support, and established best practices that can assist in troubleshooting and optimization.

Compared to other databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle, MySQL lacks some advanced features such as full-text search and partial indexes, which may be a limitation for certain use cases.

Ease of use and learning. Is compatible with a wide variety of platforms. It is known for its ability to scale and handle large volumes of data without compromising performance.

Has some limitations regarding maximum database and storage size. Query optimization in MySQL can be a challenge for less experienced developers. Uses table locking to manage transactions, which can result in slower response times.

The artistic and technical skills and experience they have met my requirements and ambitions

None of the business or technical processes were bad, but they were all present and used well

Its simple, cheap product. IT is also one of moust popular DB engines for PHP. There are many materials and instructions online on how to use MYSQL, for sure more then for Oracle.

Its not so stable as otcher ,not free, solutions.

Advanced data management tools. it has all the features needed to create, operate and archive data

High license cost. Some features are not needed for smaller projects

MySQL open source software, easy to manage and query. In my experience, it's reliable and very efficient. It enables efficient database management. MySQL provides a very high level of security.

Mysql has its limits when it comes to very advanced functions, or when the load is high. The SQL-dependent system does not support certain languages.

It's scalable and highly compatible with lots of programming languages. The syntax follows standard SQL; there is plenty of documentation online for finding out exactly how to write queries. MySQL is easy to spin up in the cloud or on a web host of any size.

Store Procedures. I kind of wish they wouldn't make these anymore, because they're hard to debug and rarely work. Also, table COLLATION is almost impossible to migrate. Backups are kind of iffy.

MySQL is easy to use and operate. It is one of the widest and well known SQL databases with a very huge community support. It can be used for Machine learning and NLP based analysis and even for big data analytics. Helping get insights over recommendation systems and social networks from the within the SQL database architecture.

MySQL has somedocument gaps related to use of it although this is the rare case but when this error somewhat occurs it gets problematic.

It is a good experience using MSQL. I like the website uploading, it amazes me when I upload a script on a website and the site starts working.

I do not understand some aspect of database security

MySQL is amazing to use for accessing and retrieving data! It is very secure and trustworthy.

The quality of support can be improved with MySQL

I like the UI and its easy to use we can store huge data in forms of rows and columns also we can create multiple databases.

You should be knowing the SQL language as every operation needs a query to run and one mistake can cause error in whole table.

- great security features plus many other wide compatibility- it has great community support

- certain functions are quite limited & complex- not highly cost effective

Been using it for years, it just keeps on working.

User management is a bit of a pain, I can't help thinking it should be easier
