E-books in minutes!

Reviewed on 31/1/2021

The software did what I was told it would: it took my blog posts from submitted URLs, and imported the text only versions. I assembled new e-books in minutes. I believe all bloggers will love Designrr. I have hundreds of blog posts and I will assemble them into new e-books. For example, Landscape side-hustle will re-purpose the best side-hustle blog posts I have written.

Pros

As a professional blogger, I love the idea of being able to quickly assemble my blog posts into an e-Book. It's a brilliant idea. I tested the Designrr software by publishing four e-books which are now available on Amazon. Search Vas Sladek on Amazon.
I'm planning to publish 2-4 more e-books in 2021 and I suspect these will be more polished.

Cons

I struggled with embedding pictures for some reason. This was a bit frustrating because my first e-book was a picture guide and my photos were shot on different phones and in different sizes.

I think I just have to use the software more. My editing was horrific. I'm almost ready to publish new e-books and I'm looking forward to it.

Simplifies layout & sharing in different formats

Reviewed on 20/10/2020

I've been around the tech areas since the 80s and have never seen such amazing support from a company, especially given the low price point...$27 with lifetime support is something I've been awed at many times. The annual subscription price is extremely low when you consider the regular updates and the support team. They frequently do webinars and calls that discuss the overall topics of layout, design, tips, tricks, and techniques...again, something I've rarely seen at this price point. I've got layout tools that cost upwards of $1000/seat and can barely get an answer to a question!

Pros

Designrr is a great tool for creating relatively short ebooks, PDF files, Kindle books, and flipbooks. As someone who has done page layout and formatting since the early days of desktop publishing, knowing which tool to use for what purpose is essential.

Each format requires specific tweaks to make it work properly for the intended platform and using Designrr has been helpful in creating content upgrades, PDF files, and flipbooks from properly formatted source text.

By that, I mean source files that are properly tagged (e.g., using styles in Word and in Google docs) and ready for import into the final layout. It is not, and never was as far as I can tell, meant to be everything for everybody for every purpose.

I love that I can have links within the content, create a CTA, store chunks of text to be used in multiple places (short bio anyone?), use branding elements like my logo, font, and colors.

I also love that I can download the formatted files to any drive I want, share the files in multiple places, and create content upgrades to go along with blog posts and training courses.

I did purchase the upgrade because I wanted (and use) the AI transcription services and import more formats.

Cons

Initially, I was a bit frustrated because of the features I thought were available...when I had a discussion with the support team, I realized I had placed Designrr in the wrong category and was trying to use it as a long document layout tool. Once I developed a better understanding of the "right fit" for the tool, I was golden.

I Really Want to Love Designrr.io but ...

Reviewed on 27/5/2020

Trying to import from Word. Keep getting an error that it cannot import Word Docx. But that is the format Designrr is supposed to be able to import. So I switched to Google docs import. I was ecstatic that importing into Designrr via Google Doc actually worked! Although I followed the help docs when I prepared my document for importing. It still imported with a lot of formatting issues. It seems, functions that "should be" simple aren't. I upgraded to the PRO version thinking the issues I had with the basic version would not be an issue with an upgraded account. Unfortunately, for me that has not been the case. I did contact support but to be fair it's only been a couple of hours. The low support score I gave was due to the fact that they lack documentation for troubleshooting. The help center consists of tutorial videos. But there aren't' any articles to help figure out issues before contacting support. There are alternatives on the market and I've decided to give them a try. This may be a great option for many and if that's the case awesome! It's just hasn't been a great option for me. To be fair, I have managed to complete a few pdfs using Designrr but not without some of the same issues I've already mentioned.

Pros

I like the features offered by Designrr. The ability to import from Word, Google Docs is what made me want to upgrade my subscription.

Cons

(Sigh) I really, really , really want to love Designrr but I have yet to have a "bug free" session. Every single time I use it which is less and less these days. I end up trying to use a feature that for whatever reason either just doesn't work or I have to "figure out" how to get something to work the way it does in their tutorials. Perhaps it's growing pains. Who knows.

Why I Love Designrr

Reviewed on 2/2/2021

I am so happy that I found Designrr. It was exactly what I had been looking for and at an affordable price with easy startup and quick results. If you want a product that is easy to use, quick to help you produce great content and at an affordable price, I highly recommend Designrr. Oh, and you will be surprised when you receive regular email tips on using Designrr and information on other added enhancements . That was an added bonus I had not expected with this product, so thank you Designrr!

Pros

What I like about Designrr is that it is very affordable, simple, easy and straightforward - I was up and running in minutes! The Standard Designrr gives you the ability to import and edit your own content in 9+ different ways and to upload your own images for your project so you have the flexibility to create whatever you want. I use it to create Tips, E-books and Articles quickly and easily with a professional cover and customized look for my business. The built in Content and Index formatting means that I spend less time and effort creating, formatting and producing my projects and more time on my business.

Cons

This is the perfect product to get started and use quickly, however, there are other features I now want to use in Pro Designrr to give me even more flexibility. The Standard Designrr will not allow me to merge content to create a longer Article or E-book as this is available in the Pro Designrr. There are some limitations around the number of uploads you can do, both in the importing of content, and in the uploading of images but this can be overcome by upgrading to the Pro Designrr edition.

Pros

The speed at which you can create a document in various formats is excellent and then create a flipbook almost immediately is really impressive.
Learning to use the software is really easy and the help guides are really useful especially if you are new to this type of software.
The creative use of the software can give you an immediate advantage.
Its very easy to save, edit, preview and distribute.

This software delivers.

Reviewed on 19/10/2020

As with everything learn a little about the software and how it works. Learn what it supposed to do and let it do it. When I realised this I have made it do wonderful things.

Pros

I like everything about this. There are many tutorials in the help section. You can join the Facebook group. If you are having problems someone else has had they direct to where you can find answers. If you still have questions or have unique problem support is there to help, Just Ask.
Learn how the software works and you will have a wonderful experience.

Cons

When I started I thought there were to many templates. I started to learn how they worked and figured which I liked it opened a world of options. There should be a "What this can do for you" as an introduction for those that are starting out. Maybe a "What this won't do" somewhere.

I love it! Will never be without it

I don't have to hire a graphic designer for covers, or have home-made looking covers for eBooks and reports. Designrr elevates everything I put out in print . It's like gift wrapping everything you send to your clients. I'm so proud to use it. I don't spend hours wondering how it will be received. The recipient knows right away the care you put into communicating with them with the level of documents you can create with this awesome software.

Pros

So easy to use. I love the 3D covers. Everything I put out is excellent and professional. I no longer send "just a PDF" as a report. It really gives you that professional edge that I believe puts you at the top of your profession when communicating with your clients and client offers.

Cons

There are no cons as far as I'm concerned. This software is just what we all need in this digital age.

Designrr Review By Sotiris Bassakaropoulos

Great E-book software but don't like paying monthly for the pleasure and don't like the way the affiliate system works.

Pros

I thought the lifetime license for creating E-Books was fantastic value at $27 and makes creating E-books very simple and easy.

Cons

I disliked that the lifetime license only allows you to create Free Ebooks to giveaway and you needed to upgrade to a monthly or annual payment to sell them, I also thought some of the pricing for the video transition was a tad expensive at $300 per month considering it is being done by software. I bought an AI software that costs me $29 per month and it allows me to create as many transcriptions from videos as I want for up to 30-minute videos.

Great for getting started with pdf creation

Reviewed on 9/5/2021

For more simple ebook creation, this has worked out well for us. We can create a quick lead magnet and choose an ebook cover image to get the magnet launched quickly on our website. Creating a higher quality ebook would probably require a more experienced designer or different software.

Pros

I wanted an easy to create ebooks for my website and for clients' websites. It imports your blog posts for you and gets you started with ebook creation.

Cons

It is somewhat limited on design capabilities. While we could easily import content, sometimes it imported too much and we had to clear everything out and start over. Complex layouts can be difficult, so we ended up switching to other software for more complicated projects.

You can create a professional looking ebook for $29

Reviewed on 3/12/2020

I have created the ebook that I wanted, and it has only cost me $29. And I will use Designrr again and again. So it has ended up being great value for me.

Pros

So the $29 version is the basic version and you get lifetime access for that. But that version does everything you need to create a professional looking ebook. The price jumps up to $39 per month for the pro version, but there was nothing that I needed which wasn't included in the basic version. You can create a very good looking ebook.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve and you have to stick with it through a bit of frustration. I did give up once actually as I was finding it a bit complicated, but then I went back to it, paid attention to a few of the tutorials and it all started to make sense. It was worth sticking with it.

If you have the money for it, it's an instabuy

Reviewed on 9/12/2020

Providing pricing catalogs with this is quite nice. E-books, and white papers, such a blast.

Pros

This is a no brainer after you get to taste the impact of that flipbook in your customers. The ease of implementation on a website, just remarkable.

They gave a lot of thought on the editor design and luckily, in case they failed about thinking of some solution, you still have access to the html editor which it will most likely accept any piece of problem solver there.

Pretty accessible, even in these times.

Cons

Although very effective, the editor could improved a lil bit more. Sometimes I find myself struggling why some changes are not taking in place, specially when working with the tables.

You could also allow having more than 2 background colors for each column of the table. Let's say you want to make a pricing list formatted as a column matrix and you are offering different plans to your customers. It would be nice to being able of selecting a color per each column.

The flipbook is amazing, but I don't see to find myself quite pleased with the size of the book when rendered. It does have a zoom button, yet I would prefer the flipbook to occupy the whole screen (width and height as well) in that way it would really give a feeling that you are reading a book. Like, regardless of the paper size, the flipbook is rendered in such a way that the page takes the whole screen.

The overall experience is the real issue. I am disappointed. I wanted it to work. But my first and only designrr ebook will be the last.

I expect things to go wrong but the real color shows when things go wrong.

If all works well go for it. But be warned. It's not going to be pleasant when things go wrong.

Pros

The ebook looks great. It's nice to import from Google docs.

Cons

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. I imported from Google docs. Support said I copied bad code and that's why my book breaks.
Fonts change, paragraphs break in many short sentences.

Support said I must clear cache. Or get training. Formating stuff needs training but I have written very many blogs and articles.

I then went to support. They stop supporting. I went to their Facebook group but [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] the boss deleted my post. And said he will not talk to me any longer. I was trying to get support from him.

Not for all people...

I really try to use it (I already pay for it). But every tiome I try to make a professional-looking document. I prefer to switch to Microsoft Word.

Pros

The most useful feature is to import blog pages. Just put the URL and the program can import the contents to an editable document.

Another useful feature is when you can choose the style of yoiur document with different covers, colors, fonts, etc.

Cons

It is really hard to get a professional look. Most of the times you end with a boring, dull looking document.

And the online editor is very bad. Working with paragraphs is hard, you could do a better and easiest work with Microsoft Word.

How I flipped over the Designrr Flipbook Software

Reviewed on 23/12/2020

Fantastic!

Pros

The single most important feature of the Designrr Software (apart from the fact that it has innumerable excellent templates, it is easy to integrate with my other software, it is extremely easy to use and a whole lot of other positive things) is the fact that it has the most sought after feature of creating the Flipbook version. How come I forgot to mention that it also came with a one-time price that was not only reasonable ... it was also irresistible!

Cons

I wish I had something in mind that I could ask for more ... I am happy with what I got in return for the price that I paid. Good value for money. Maybe, I will go for upgrades after sometime.

The unbelievable resources built into Designrr program is unparalleled by any of the other programs in this niche, & we have experimented with quite a few, leaving their names out b/c this is a review on the software we like not a bashing on their competition but don't take my word for it, dive in, try it, the ease of use sells itself, you will be blown away by the features, the quality, the options, layouts if you can dream it you can express it in here, publish your dreams, your imagination is only limited by your beliefs, not by the software

the only con i had was recently added to the covers now you can literally build something that can go toe-to-toe with the biggest publishers on the planet

From PDF to Flip

Reviewed on 3/11/2020

I would say I find the best software I've been looking for years and question that no one here at my place can tell or explain how.

Pros

Flipbook, because I'm a new user for about a month and find flip book very impressive and decided to use Designrr and the price is so good. However; I haven't decided yet whether to upgrade or not because I cannot afford the monthly pay, but as soon as I know more how to use it I might change my mind then.

Cons

Recently i enjoy from PDF to flip, but what I don't know clearly is an import from Ms.word as i'm not sure yet how to use. I believe I will enjoy using it later on.

I was skeptical that the tool could work as well as it does. The reality is this content design tool works even better than it is described and is not a valuable part of my toolkit for content deployment.

Pros

I like the ease of getting started and having a product in a very short time. But what is even better is that you have a super large variety of options and if you can put in a little more time you can produce extraordinary content even if you are not a designer at heart.

Cons

I would love the transcription included at a lower level for basic use.

Perfect software for creating ebooks

Reviewed on 29/5/2021

I create a lot of ebooks to send to clients to refer to in meetings and presentations. I have enjoyed using Designrr and can import large documents and datasets into pre-prepared templates, so making ebooks is a doddle. The major issue I have is that the site can be frustrating and slow, and it can be a steep learning curve to learn how to use the many elements of Designrr.

Pros

I use Designrr to quickly and easily create ebooks. The most important elements for me are that I can use the software online, wherever I am and without the need to download any bulky software. The included design templates also make life so much easier.

Cons

There are a number of limitations with Designrr, particularly the lack of effective tutorials or instruction documents. Also, the site can be buggy and sometimes clicks are not immediately registered.

Great Product

Reviewed on 30/11/2020

It was good. One suggestion - you have a great product, so really don't need that hard sell stuff you are doing. Honestly, I didn't even read all the other offers you made when I signed up. Those offers and all that text was really annoying. I knew ahead of time that you did that, and so I just skipped it and went straight to the entry offer. You really don't need all that gobbledy gook, seriously people. That is a complete turn off. I may at some point upgrade. Because I really like your product, but tone down the upsell. Please. If I hadn't known what I wanted beforehand, I probably wouldn't have purchased. Nobody wants to read pages and pages of text.

Pros

This program is very easy to use. The entry level price was just right.

Cons

I don't have any cons at the moment, I like it.

A fabulously exciting journey of discovery.

Pros

Love working with this product, amazingly simple even for a total layman like me, I love how I can create publications across genres as well as different formats and styles, either using one of the many templates or creating my own. The images too are awesome as are the different ways of uploading my material. Finally, the customer support is truly amazing, they spent 30 minutes showing me the ropes and whenever I needed a helping hand, they were there. They also keep coming up with additional features that make it extra exciting. Well done.

Cons

Might be nice to offer illustrations - either illustration services or a version to customise illustrations (not photos)
