Creating Professional Looking Videos Has Never Been So Easy
Reviewed on 31/8/2020
The best part of WeVideo is the flexibility to be as artistic as you want. There are templates for you to start with or you can start with a blank canvas. Students as young as Grade 1 have used WeVideo with success.
Pros
I make all kinds of videos for education. Some are how-to videos, some are informational videos, and some are celebratory videos. WeVideo is so incredibly easy to use. Uploading content to edit is so easy. And I love the professional-looking quality of the completed videos. WeVideo also has a great library of images, videos and music that I can use as well.
Cons
I can't think of anything that could be improved!

Good for students, I have one complaint
Reviewed on 29/4/2021
See above
Pros
I use this myself and manage as many as 85 projects at one time. I find it easy to use and explain. Most of my users are 12-14 years old. They do complex programs with interviews, live video, cut-aways, music and voice overs. We use it for podcasting as well. Each student does between 1-4 projects a quarter year of school.
Cons
Your new interface hides the sound bar so that it requires an additional click to find it. Making kids have a harder time with what was always their hardest thing to manage.
Your new interface hide where the edit is filed into a project so kids who open an edit and just start putting clips on the timeline are not building them in the assigned "shared with me project" which makes in impossible for me to monitor them or see their progress. You also do not have a mechanism to move an existing edit into a "project " file that was assigned to them. This leaves me in the unfortunate problem of either requiring them to rebuild the edit in the appropriate place, or finish the video (without shared video files) and without my supervision of the students work.

Deceptive pricing and poor customer service
Reviewed on 11/7/2019
I was unhappy with how the customer support dealt with this issue and how they refused to issue a refund simply because I asked for a refund through PayPal. They claimed they cannot issue it because of that, which is ridiculous to say the very least. The matter is now still open but my decision on whether to ever use this service again let alone recommend them is short and final - NO.
Pros
It's relatively easy to use and has good templates.
Cons
The pricing is deceptive and when on a free trial, you are not being told how much the features you get to use in the free plan would cost in paid plans. When you thus upgrade, it can happen what happened to me - you spend hours working on a video and then want to upgrade to get rid of their logo, only to discover that half of the video is gone, because you'd have to upgrade to the most expensive Business plan to keep those. There is no warning, no nothing that could help you avoid this and maybe decide to just keep the logo instead. It's really, really unacceptable how this is done.

The best video editor ever!
Reviewed on 9/7/2021
It's been amazing, I've been using the platform for the last couple of months and I am planning on continue using it. It's great to know that I have a place where I can edit my class videos, create rooms for my students to add their own creations, not only videos but podcasts, GIFs and more, and share their insights in a fun way. WeVideo offered me a 30 day trial, then I bought the Education version and honestly it's totally worth it. I recommended this platform to some of my coworkers and they loved it as well.
Pros
I just love all the features WeVideo has to offer. You can merge videos into one, add transitions, text and different filters. One of the best parts is that you can do all this without any restriction from you smartphone and computer. Another amazing feature WeVideo has is that it includes an Education form of the platform, which allows me to create rooms where students can add their videos and watch videos I upload and edit throughout the platform.
Cons
Nothing, WeVideo is amazing and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I will definitely continue using this platform to create and edit videos.

The Best Introductory Online Video Editing Software
Reviewed on 11/8/2020
WeVideo has been amazing for online teaching. I make tons of videos and recorded lessons for students, and while I don’t often need all of the bells and whistles WeVideo can offer, I love having the option and the quality of the videos I can make are never lacking. Every county doing online learning (and even the one’s that aren’t) should look into getting WeVideo for their teachers!
Pros
WeVideo has so many features that make it the optimal introduction to video editing for students or for adults who have yet to try their hands at editing. It is completely online, meaning you don’t have to download any large software files, and you can access your work online from any computer you can log in on. Users can edit in a normal timeline mode for those who have some experience, or you can use the storyboard mode which makes it easier to follow and edit for newer users. It has so much stock footage anyone can use, and even has themes that you can apply to the entire video that automatically add music, transitions, and title cards that fit a theme of your choice! Once you are more experienced, the depth of options this software can give you is impressive - from greenscreen and video effects to multiple track layering!
Cons
It’s hard to think of any issues with WeVideo! There are a lot of options, and it can get overwhelming if you search through all of the options before getting a base understanding of editing, but that can also be a benefit for those who want to explore or create high quality videos!

WeVideo is an awesome tool to use in education.
Reviewed on 4/8/2020
I continue to be impressed with WeVideo and the support they provide to users. This organization is positive and focused on creating the best product they can. They are also advocates for education, which has resulted in improved product features to support students and teachers.
Pros
I love that WeVideo is user-friendly and accessible for people who have varying skill levels with technology. It can be used to make videos look incredibly professional and has features/tools for advanced creation. This tool is an essential tool for distance and remote learning and can enhance the educational experience for students in any space.
Cons
I wish the sound tracks had more editing capabilities. This part of the webtool is a little more rudimentary, but improvements are always being made with this tool.

Easy film editing software with great value
Reviewed on 24/4/2019
I found the most value when choosing the Professional Plan and paying for it for an entire year. Not only does this give you access to creating as many and as long of videos as you need, you also get access to a HUGE library of stock video, photos and audios. The value of this alone has paid for the cost of my subscription. I love being able to edit everything in one place and add/change my stock footage as needed. While you don't have all the controls of software like Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro, I have been able to do everything I need with the features in WeVideo.
Pros
Great entry level film editing software for those just starting out. It is easy to learn the software. One of the benefits for me has been the fact that it's cloud based so I can work on it anywhere, even if I do not have my computer or files. In the professional level or higher package, you have access to a HUGE library of stock video, photos and audios.
Cons
Organizing my media with their folder system has been a little frustrating to figure out. There are also not a ton of customization options with titles and transitions. You can change the color, font, and size but not much else.
When I was first starting, it took awhile to figure out how to add a white background or different background for a title or png image. However, there hasn't been too much I haven't been able to do in this software--it just takes a bit on something to figure out a workaround.

WeVideo - ‘is an useful tool with cloud storage for creator and business owner to grow new...
Reviewed on 1/10/2020
My overall experience with WeVideo is great. This is a very helpful tool for the creator. It has a very reasonable cost compared to other tools. I would say WeVideo is extremly useful platform for any business owner to develop.
Pros
I must say that video editing becomes very easy with WeVideo and store the work quickly because it offers cloud storage. I am using this tool for a long time because my clients are quite happy with all the presentations. I think professional-looking videos with voice-over now a matter of few minutes. I like the fact that WeVideo is packed with a lot of important features such as video clips, images, music, animations, and element. Also, you can upload your own selected image, video, music, etc this is amazing. This software enables you to work online so, you don’t need to download it which is very convenient.
Cons
I wish if they could have more elements and audio edit option to be more creative with the design. WeVideo offers only 5 minutes of video download with a free version. If anyone wants to download longer videos then they need to go for a paid version which not always affordable.

WeVideo for Education

When our administrators can use a video editing software to create a virtual celebration for exiting students and a virtual tour for incoming students, teachers can create screencasts of activities to help students understand what to do, students can record a narration of their work, office staff can create a video from student-submitted photos and videos for Teacher Appreciation Week, and tech staff can create video tutorials for staff, all with the same product, you know you have a robust product! We love WeVideo!
Pros
WeVideo is a versatile, easy to use tool for staff and students to create and edit videos. We used it A LOT this past spring during Distance Learning! Our staff has used it for screencasting, narration, and creating videos for instruction. Our students use it for creating videos to show their learning. This is a valuable resource for us!
Cons
WeVideo is always adding new features-- so when there's room for improvement, I know they're working on it!
I would love to see real-time collaboration on a shared project.
I would also love to see the ability to edit something within a video, not just clip a segement.

Pros
WeVideo is easy to use and helps even beginning users create a professional looking final video. I love the stock library of images and the software works well with many formats of video when you upload your own. My students can find the pictures and video clips they need for their projects in a safe environment. It is very easy to save and share projects. Plus you can use the same software to record video, a screen cast and a podcast.
Cons

Pros
What is NOT to like? There are so many features in WeVideo that allow you to create incredible and professional grade videos including green screen chroma Key, animation, but the BEST part is the thousands of media clips, music, etc. in their extensive STOCK LIBRARY!
Cons
The only problem is it is missing a CROP & ROTATE tool for Green Screen creations and the price as school budgets are in trouble right now for Covid.

A Powerful Web-Based Video Editor
Reviewed on 25/2/2020
WeVideo has been great for our school! We do green screen video announcements once a week, which is incredible to see elementary school students capable of editing! Organizing can be a bit of a bear, but the range of capabilities of this program are incredible!
Pros
WeVideo is a great web based video editor! It can scale itself to welcome all ages and ability levels through its "Storyboard" mode and it's "Timeline" mode. Storyboard is simpler, which is great with students, and Timeline is for more advanced works that let users create different tracks of media. The fact that I could edit green screen in the same tool that students can drag and drop short video clips is incredible!
Cons
My only issue with WeVideo is the organizing. I've been using it for a little over half a year, and I still struggle to organize my creations. The folder system isn't too complicated, but it doesn't always let me place files where I want. I also struggle to reorganize them, though I know if I take some time and sit down, I should be able to figure it out. I just wish this aspect was as intuitive as the rest of the program.

I absolutely love Wevideo! I am gladly paying for this software. I have used a lot of free and pay-for software that just doesn't match up.
Pros
If you are looking for video software that works seamlessly from your Android phone to Windows, this is the software. I purchased the tier that costs about 240 for the year, but you get so much for this price. The quality of the videos and the stock stuff that they offer for free is truly stunning. I recommend this software to newbies and professionals alike! You will not be disappointed!

Great way to get your feet wet in the world of video editing
Reviewed on 30/7/2018
Pros
I used the free version of WeVideo to make a short film for school. It was my my first exposure to video editing and while it took me a week to make a professional looking video, it helped me realize that I actually enjoy the process a lot. I personally found it helpful to storyboard my film before going into WV, as it made the editing process quicker.
I wouldn't recommend WV for people who are new to video editing or aren't really interested in it, because there is a learning curve that can be frustrating. But for those who want to get their feet wet before jumping into a more expensive software, WeVideo is an excellent place to start.
Cons
While We Video allowed me to upload my own clips, audio, and photos, I still had to edit all files (adjusting sound bites, video cutting, etc), before uploading as those features aren't part of the free plan.

We have signed up for a free school wide license now and will definitely pay for one next year. Our teachers are all using this currently for end of year project based learning units. We are doing PBLs instead of end of year assessments
Pros
I discovered this service when putting together a virtual learning plan for my school and couldn't be happier. There are very few video editing services for students that work on any device and on any platform. WeVideo does and it's super easy to use. They have a great resource library where you can search by grade division (MS, HS, etc.) and by subject area to browse already made videos for inspiration. They also have templates that students can use for structure for things like book talks or science labs.
Cons

It's a mildly advanced, web based video maker software that is easy to pick up
Reviewed on 15/7/2018
Easy to make video software for quick editing without a subscription
Pros
The software can be used by both beginners, intermediates and experts alike because of the ease of access it provides to all of its users. It's been easy to figure out all of the functions myself, as well as getting other users on it and functioning well also. Ease of access is key for it. It's also free to use for a certain amount of video you can make
Cons
The limit in using only 5 minutes of video for the free trial is nice, but it only allows for short form and quicker projects that the user wants to make. There's not a ton of variety in it's edits as well, and usually you can only make simpler text, transitions, backgrounds and etc. Not the level of variety and interconnectivitiy as Adobe Cloud and Premiere.
