Infor SunSystems is a good ERP solution, provides a friendly interface; a good reporting system, and a lot of functionalities. It provides users the laxity to link their excel to SunSystems using Infor Q&A to extract and design reports.

Pros

Its easy to use once trained; provides an interactive interface and offers users a wide range of functionalities. It has the Q&A function for Excel that enables users to interact with the system using Excel. I can design reports and extract financial transactions in Excel using the Infor Q&A. I can easily extract Financial reports from the system just by clicking a button in Excel (linked Infor definition). It provides an easy interface to create and amend the Chart of accounts and set up mandatory codes to avoid wrong coding.

Cons

The Infor Q&A sometimes runs very slow in Excel and delays the generation and completion of reports.

SunSystems is a very powerful System that is easy to use and implement especially for Hospitality Sector and Service sector and will provide you "when rightly implemented" with 90% of your Accounting and Administration requirements with very good, real time analytics that will drive your Business Decisions though, if your company is in the Manufacturing or retail business I recommend going for Infor LN or Infor M3

Pros

1- Q&A tool built on Microsoft office
2- easy to use Report Manager
3- corporate allocation is one of the best solutions that can be used for Cost allocation on Cost Centers within the same company or across many business units.
4- transaction matching & Reconciliation Manager available and easy to use
5- drill down capabilities on any account.
6- management of all purchasing, inventory and sales processes with out of the box integration with ledger.
7- can analyze any type of transaction on Multi analysis dimensions up to 10 per trans. type
8- budget control on any transaction
9- Business Rule builder that coup with laws and internal policies for transactions also automates Audit.
10- Multi ledger within the same business unit.
11- Security Modules gives extended security and accessibility features that reach field security and access.
12- System Contains a Designer that help you design each user experience within the System and also insert any external app, file or link to be accessed directly from it with out the need to navigate outside
13- System contains transfer desk that enables the user to import and export data from other systems in different formats and with validation rules that can be amended each time you use it

Cons

1- System does manage asset registry but maintenance and asset tracking is not present inside of it.
2- integrations with other apps needs the purchase of another platform (Infor ION).
3- Budget creation can be managed from the system but planning needs another app.
4- automatic transaction matching cannot handle partial matching so the amounts needs to be the exact same with no difference or tolerance.
5- user journal entry transaction screen is very hard to use for normal user so they use the Q&A Excel add on to fasten and ease the entry process specially for bulk transactions.

I'd recommend Infor Sun Systems to any small business or non-profit grossing. Beyond that, it becomes to bulky. Infor Sun Systems could be a great product for your company.

Pros

Software is stable, easy to access and performs all core Accounting functions. It's also great that Sun Systems is able to be customized the third party software. That feature helped us a lot.

Cons

Product is not user friendly. This software is not good for high volume Accounting office. To many clicks to get what is needed and not all reports are able to be exported or customized.

It provides a central point to collate all project reports from different business locations and convert the reports to USD using the multicurrency transaction so the the organization can report on the whole organization as a whole using one standard currency as the reporting currency. It is also fast and interacts with other apps like COUPA but due to traffic on month ends, the system becomes too slow.

Pros

Sunsystem has a good interactive interface, and easy to go with shortcut functions
it is easy to use
It can be operated within a web base on any laptop from a remote location
Data upload using info Q&A is easy
High level of guaranteed security and access must be provided to enable access

Cons

Although it allows keeping of fixed asset register, it does not permit tracking of asset as well as maintenance

To enable integration from other app there is a need to purchase another platform

A great service and we benefit from working directly with Infor, which we have a good partnering relationship with.

Pros

The general ledger is easy to use and the Q&A excel interface is very powerful for data going into and out of the ledgers. Using the cloud offering is great because it includes all the modules, allowing a know cost when expanding the use of the wider system.

Cons

It is very customisable so specifying this can be tricky. It is worth using somebody that knows the system very well to ensure it's set up correctly from the beginning.

Extremely robust and reliable Software for Financial Management

Pros

This software offers the flexibility to be adapted to any organization, especially if the organization is fund accounting oriented.

Cons

Reports is a challenge on this software, like in most of the softwares. Requires supervision for IT team to restart services constantly. The software relays on Microsoft IIS and SQL Reporting services, and some times if those 2 actors, are not configured or tuned up properly, reports can be really challenging.

Pros

The best feature with this system is the Sun Q&A Excel feature that enables users to work directly in Excel for reporting puroposed rather than connecting to Sun. Easy for GL Account inquiries or AP vendor inquiries.

Cons

Sun itself is really bad-looking. The user interface is truly poorly designed, the system is rather slow and posting entries is really old-school.

Great functionality for reports customisation. Vision upload cuts workload across the business from end user.

Cons

The F1 help functionality is not detailed, training has additional cost involved. There no manual for the system all is done via one to one training.
