Lucidchart is amazing for creating high-quality, visually appealing charts and diagrams. Although its primary function is in flowcharts, its versatility is immense. It's easy to use, and we appreciate how well it works with Confluence.
Pros
Lucidchart is my go-to software for making system diagrams, modeling data, and analyzing and bettering business processes. It works wonderfully for each of these purposes. Using Lucid is a breeze because of its drag-and-drop interface.
Cons
The functionality of Lucidchart are behind those of some installed alternatives because it is a web-based tool. I also find it frustrating that there appears to be no method to attach a connector to a form in such a way that the connector would automatically re-orient itself when I re-position the shape, as is often the case when trying to optimize a procedure.

The overall experience with Lucid chart is tremendous as it makes the user in control of how they want to navigate, utilize the features and collaborate.

Lucidchart worked fine when we first started our company but as we scaled and found that Miro does a much better job.
Pros
As a basic diagramming and mind-mapping tool it works without an issue. You have all the shapes needed. It is simple enough for anyone to use
Cons
What I found bad about Lucidchart is the UI and collaboration with others compared to Miro. The UI looks outdated and takes the fun out of drawing. Collaborating with others is not seamless like Miro where you can collaborate in real-time, chat or take audio calls.

Lucidchart is my preferred software of choice for creating all forms of process diagrams - flowcharts , product mockups and the likes.
Pros
It is web browser based, which enables me use it for my diagramming needs on any desktop device without first installing software.
Also, I like that it integrates smoothly with my Google Drive. This has meant automatic backup of all of my flowcharts, process maps etc diagrams in the cloud.
Lastly, I like the vast template library it provides. I have relied heavily on them to ensure that I don't have to create process diagrams from scratch , as there is always an available template for any process diagram I have needed to create using Lucidchart.
Cons
Because Lucidchart is browser based, I have sometimes encountered lags, when accessing large sized process diagrams .

The tool provides seamless cooperation on process drawings/diagrams and makes it very easy to build it together. I like the possibility to indicate the status of the drawing, despite it being cloud one. I like the "Visio-like" experience as I'm the old guard. The overall experience is not bad as such, but it is hard to navigate sometimes with all those templates popping up on a landing page. UI is very clean when it comes to the drawing/designing part. Also usage of those templates is not always straightforward, especially those with underlying data. However, I would not recommend it for any wireframes and such, there are better tools for that.
Pros
I love, the cooperation portion of it. That I do not have to send out ppts or something, but rather collaborate on stuff in the tool and get the best result because of that. It saves so much time.
Cons
The welcome page is very crowded, There are all these templates popping up. I'm storing all direct links to my drawings, because I find it very hard to find them otherwise. Also I do not like, that I can get to the list of my drawings from a different page, then the drawing one.

Very positive as it was very easy to collaboratively and remotely discuss new ideas, work flows and prototypes in one hub, instead of switching tools.
Pros
The clean interface and real-time collaboration helps boost efficiency and creativity as we can quickly take an idea and break it down to iterate on together.
Cons
Performance can be slower when dealing with larger, more complex diagrams. Additionally, the learning curve can be quite steep, especially when moving beyond basic diagrams and functionality, needs better guidance.

One of the best softwares in market for creating flow diagrams

Overall, I will highly recommend using Lucidchart for creating and sharing your flowcharts or diagrams. It is an extremely customizable and flexible tool with a lot of integration options. Though it doesn't have many cheaper or smaller plans, however, for enterprise level, this is one of the best diagramming tools available.
Pros
Lucidchart is specifically designed to create flowcharts like business process models, data flow diagrams, organizational charts, sequence diagrams, architecture diagrams etc. I love its feature set and integrations as compared to other diagramming tools like draw.io or Microsoft Visio. As it is an online web application, it allows multiple team members to collaborate and contribute on the same diagram in real time. You can leave feedback or comments on any object and attach notes.Lucidchart has plethora of options for different flowchart shapes, objects, lines or pre-built templates, which eventually saves up a lot of your time.
Cons
I don't have many negatives about this software but one major limitation with Lucidchart is that there is no desktop app available, so you will always need to use it in the browser. Also, sometimes when I am moving the objects, the lines/connectors/links between those objects mess up completely and I end up doing a lot of readjustments.

Great process mapping tool
Reviewed on 26/10/2024
Pros
The ease of digitalizing all of the processes is just awesome. When I discovered this tool I was really impress how easy it is. I had some basic knowledge of UML and BPMN so it was clear to me what type of block to use when and why. It allows me to create really robust process maps, that's my main use case for that. Since I learned how to use it, every time I talk to with somebody about any kind of process we start to map it there, just to see how it looks and visually look for some errors and things that can be done better.
Cons
The free version in my opinion is just not enough to really get your hand on this software. You got just 3 documents with 60 shapes, if you're a person who is really detailed, that amount can be used really quickly not making you see the value in it.

LucidChart is overall a great tool. It makes diagramming easy and quick, which is more than can be said for most tools I've used. It supports even the most obscure diagrams that I've been asked to produce and makes it easy to edit and version diagram.s
Pros
I loved the intuitive interface and the vast library of shapes and templates to make every possible diagram. And the real-time collaboration functionality makes it easy to iterate with colleagues on a diagram.
Cons
A lot of the most useful diagram types are locked behind paywalls on Lucidchart, and the pricing is quite steep unless you're spending every single day diagramming. If you're on the free tier, you're extremely limited on which shapes and diagrams you can use.

We’ve had a subscription for ~3 years. We’re happy with the functionality. Given that we do a lot of work with external collaborators, the process of asking a collaborator to create an account, log-in, etc. just to view a Lucidchart with us is tiresome. Lucid’s other (very similar) software, Lucidspark has this feature. Please bring it over.
Pros
User interface and functionality are amazing for a web app. It honestly feels like you are using OmniChart, OmniGraffle, or other traditional computer app. It’s hard to believe Lucid is operating wholly in a web browser.
Cons
The inability to create a shared link for a non-Lucid user to access is really bothersome. This functionality is present in Lucidspark - the “brainstorming” companion to Lucidchart. But not in the latter. I’ve recommended adding this feature to Lucidchart. It feels like a no-brainer.Also, it’s not inexpensive. Would love to see the cost lowered so that I could afford to purchase licenses for some of my external collaborators.

Pros
Lucidchart is a great product for workflow mapping, brainstorming, and any other visual requirements for an organization. The collaboration and ability to visually work together on projects helps organizations take their business to the next level.
Cons
Lucidchart sometimes feels a bit "clunky" and has an older feeling than other products like Miro. Sometimes I felt limited by the way the shapes are able to be edited and there are issues with requiring guest users to create accounts... slowing down the process to collaborate with clients.

Lucidchart: Simple & Powerful
Reviewed on 30/8/2023
Pros
I use Lucidchart for system diagrams, data modeling, and business process analysis/improvement. It's an excellent tool for all of these. Lucid is intuitive to use with simple drag & drop functionality. 90% of the features I'm looking for are available by sight or with a simple right-click of the mouse. The visualizations it provides helps to highlight process complexities that need to be simplified, and make collaboration with clients very straightforward.
Cons
Because Lucidchart is a web-based tool, its features lag in comparison to some installed options. The other thing that annoys me is how there does not seem to be any way to add a connector to a shape so that the connector will dynamically re-orient when I move the shape-- a very common occurrence when working to improve processes! I need to click the connector, hope I actually selected the right space (or else it creates a new connector), and drag it to a new connection point. Overall minor, but annoying.
