Paycor builds HR & Payroll software for leaders. Paycor’s platform is comprehensive, it covers every aspect of people management, from recruiting and onboarding to career development and retention. Paycor started in Cincinnati in 1990 and the company has a strong presence in the Midwest. They are growing nationwide and have more than 29,000 customers in all 50 states.

Paycor allows users to create recurring employee schedules, control labor distribution and costs, and manage any exceptions, such as unapproved time cards and overtime alerts. Multiple time tracking methods are supported, including biometric readers, badge terminals, web browser time clocks, and mobile punching from employees’ smartphones. Employees can also view their schedules and request time off from their phone or web browser, and managers are given access to vacation and sick leave balances when approving requests.

Paycor’s payroll software includes tools for managing tax calculations and filing, 401 (k) data, workers’ compensation, pay stubs, W-2s, and 1099s, expense reporting, electronic child support payments, and more. Paycor’s unified experience also features robust analytics and mobile-first functionality. Employees can login to update their contact, tax, and direct deposit details, with administrators notified automatically. The HR and benefits administration solution enables online open enrollment or a range of employee benefits, performance review management, and company document sharing, and also includes a library of HR document templates.

• Employee performance can be managed, with users able to create and conduct performance reviews, manage transfers, and track promotions.

• The employee self-service portal allows employees to request time off, new hires to upload their information before onboarding, and administrators to communicate important news with employees.

• Paycor’s applicant tracking system allows users to view analytics and status changes in real-time, with configurable workflows and approval routing.

• Charts and reports can be generated to give insight into historical labor trends, total compensation per month, employees paid per month, compensation by department, and average length of service, and users can also schedule reports to run automatically.

Great experience. Cannot imagine running payroll through Paycor without the integrate Time and Attendance piece.

Pros

I love it how well it integrates with the payroll software. Makes processing payroll much more efficient than before when I had manually enter everyone's hours worked.

Cons

We use a biometric time clock which will give us some issues from time to time. Sometimes it is the sensitivity issue (it will ask to try again several times). The biggest issues we've had was disrupted synching or time punches not being recorded. Lucky, these are rare occurrences.

Overall, very positive experience. Website timeouts are an issue, but the ease of use is a good trade off.

Pros

I like the ease of use and the ability to onboard users. Very straightforward. Non-technical folks can use this product easily.

Cons

Integration options are somewhat limited. The site often times out and time cards have to be manually adjusted often.

Pros

The features of Paycor are great! It handles the HR functions we were hoping for. Love the automated onboarding process and ATS intergration.

Cons

Onboarding / implementation experience was less than favorable. Our IC was hardly available and I was only given a 30 min training for Payroll. There is a lot of self training using their training materials, needed for onboarding.

Time dashboard, payroll processing, pay grid

Cons

Tax banner never works, unemployment and other payroll taxes aren't paid on time. Everything is manual which leaves room for error with employees pay, report generation.

Paycor has been a great experience for my business. The software is easy to use, and the customer support has been outstanding. I have never experienced any issues with accuracy or processing time.

Pros

Paycor is an excellent payroll solution for my business. The software is user-friendly, the customer service is top-notch, and the accuracy of the payroll processing is flawless.

Cons

One downside of Paycor is that the monthly fees can be a bit steep. However, I have found that the quality of the services outweighs the price.
