What is Dhound?

Dhound is a web security monitoring and threat detection system for websites, applications, servers, and clouds, with tools for tracking logins, auditing outgoing traffic, detecting threats, marking trusted sources, monitoring WordPress sites, and setting up alerts for suspicious and warning events.

Dhound is designed to help businesses to prevent security issues rather than try to fix them after they have occurred, and it does so by carrying out agent-based collection and analysis of security events on servers, and agentless collection for cloud. The security monitoring platform analyzes outgoing traffic and server logins to understand who is coming and going within the system. When the Dhound platform detects any suspicious activity, such as data leakage, file downloads, or unusual logins, it alerts users via email so that any further damage can be prevented. Alerts can contain information such as the number of login attempts within the day, week, or month, the IP address concerned, and the location of the user, and businesses can then decide whether or not they trust this user.

Businesses are able to mark trusted sources including individual IP addresses, cities, or countries, and any future login or activity from this location is not flagged as suspicious. In order to provide insight into security and risks, the Dhound platform provides users with reports on the number of trusted, suspicious, and dangerous visitors. Reports can be scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis, and businesses can compare their security breaches and threats to previous time periods.
