Overall, Patriot has been great to work with. Set up was quick and easy. Onboarding employees and contractors are straight-forward and not hard to do. And their service is top-notch as well.
Pros
I like the ease of use and user-friendly interface and dashboard.
Cons
I think that the timeline when processing payroll isn't as advantageous to small businesses as more expensive options like ADP can be. Although it's not as costly as ADP it required payroll to be funded about a week ahead of check dates which can be challenging for a new, small field service company.

It has been excellent. Aside from the reports I have found it exceptionally easy to use, the customer service is amazing and timely, I cannot see myself switching payroll companies anytime soon.
Pros
The live agent chat, the ease of reporting, the ease of payroll processing, all of it really.
Cons
Not all reports print the same, missing the title of the report or the layout varies report to report. I would prefer that they all appear as the Payroll Liabilities Report, with a clear heading and a much cleaner report. Also, it would be great if Patriot could develop or integrate timesheets or timeclock capabilities so it is not a manual entry each time.

My client had an issue with the state quarterly forms. Although the SUTA taxes were remitted by Patriot , none of the quarterly returns were filed for the last 5 quarters. After sorting out an issue with the state exemption status, a request was made several times for Patriot to file the late returns. It's been 26 days and still no returns filed. You are not able to speak with the "tax team" or receive any communications from the tax department. All emails, chats and phone calls go thru a general support team. The latest email I received stated the filing of the forms are a "first come, first serve basis". Is Patriot not able to keep up with timely filings for all customers? The support ticket has been opened for over 26 days. I'm wondering if Patriot uses an outside service for tax filing?

Pros
Easy to use and understand. Very user friendly. Before Patriot I had not run payroll I was mostly a one woman show. I need an affordable software that was easy to use and I could get running quickly. Patriot delivered.
Cons
Price for each additional employee. Wish this was tiered pricing so you can select a tier and pay one price until you reach the tier limit.

We love that patriot files our taxes accurately and on time so that we don't need to additionally pay an accountant to do that for us.
Pros
We are a fairly new nonprofit started in the past 3 years. We started out using patriot payroll and its made paying our employees, paying taxes and filing taxes, as well as tracking what we pay contractors easy and doable for us! It is user friendly and is a very non complicated system. We love the time card management addition that allows our employees to fill out their own time cards, but also allows the administrator to edit them as needed.
Cons
I don't feel much needs to be improved upon, I am happy with the software and feel its very user friendly. I have not had any issues with it at all.
