About Pixelmator Pro
Pixelmator Pro is an image editing software for macOS, which enables businesses to modify images using presets, retouching and vector tools, pre-designed shapes, spacing guides, and more. Creative professionals can combine, mix, rearrange, apply or remove effects such as 'Blur', 'Distortion', 'Halftone', 'Stylize', 'Sharpen' and 'Tile', among others.
Pixelmator Pro allows managers to customize the font color, size, and alignment, add superscript or subscript text, and adjust emphasis using various topography features. It offers 'quick', 'magnetic' and 'color' selection tools, which help businesses choose and apply effects and copy required objects from one image to another. The software also leverages machine learning technology to automatically enhance images, improve resolution and remove camera noise according to individual requirements.
Pixelmator Pro provides several texture brushes, watercolors, crayons, markers, and pencils for users to create digital paintings. Photographers, illustrators. designers and painters can also customize their workspace by moving and selecting tools, layers, and built-in presets.

Equivalent to Photoshop for a Reasonable Price

I do almost all my graphics on PIxelmator Pro, thought I do use Canva for quicker cut/paste creations and final rendering. I create book covers and detailed banners/graphics/ promotional materials for both our church and for my business using Pixelmator Pro. There are many features in Pixelmator Pro that I do not yet use. I learned a new one just yesterday as I had need--by finding the answer in a forum and applying that. I still would like to figure out how to do some filters, but I know there are many more features awaiting my learning them in Pixelmator Pro.
Pros
The functionability of the app. I can do (just about) anything graphic with Pixelmator Pro and it seems more intuitive than Photoshop. I use this app every day and enjoy creating graphics using Pixelmator Pro. I'm not an expert in design, but this app enables me to learn as I go. Also I appreciate that there are forums out there of other users, so if I have a question/problem I can usually find an answer/work-around. FInally, the best aspect is the one-time purchase rather than rental/membership.
Cons
I cannot edit vectors. I use Depositphotos, and many graphics images often are available as eps files. These cannot be edited with Pixelmator Pro and I haven't found a way to integrate these vectors into my workflow--for example, even using free convertors online does not enable them to be brought into Pixelmator Pro. I understand that the earlier Pixelmator did convert eps files. Another con is the feather/soft edge tool is not usable with objects. A mask is needed, but that is one-directional.

I heard about Pixelmator Pro on a forum when I was looking for a way to edit graphics more detailed than the MacOs Preview app and Powerpoint. Years ago I used CorelDraw, so I was familiar with graphics editing programs, but the Photoshop yearly membership was off-putting, and Corel was incompatible and outdated for my purposes. So I was making do with a less than optimum workflow until I found Pixelmator Pro.Reasons for Switching to Pixelmator Pro

I use it extensively every time I need to retouch a photo, or an image. Great set of function, especially considering the price. Since I adopted it two years ago, I never missed Photoshop.
Pros
Price/Features ratio, constantly update, very precise, action rich, great photoshop alternative.
Cons
Some functions could be more intuitive, for example subject selection is not always precise. Lacks functions like emboss, although they are achievable by combining other functions.

Pros
It has a simple interface and is easy to use on a Mac. Photo editing is simple and use of tools like removing the objects is very handy. It is budget friendly and the software response is very fast and smooth
Cons
Only limitation that we have encountered is the integration of wide range of plugins made by a third party companies which is in a very small scale.

My experience with Pixelmator Pro has been a positive and productive one. I am a one-person shop and the software meets all my graphic editing needs. I have been able to easy create and edit various projects from business cards, to logos, to graphic images.
Pros
Pixemator Pro is a great alternative for Photoshop and other similar products. It has an easy learning curve on all of its features. The available help and tutorials are extremely helpful and easy to follow. I also love that the software is native to the Mac OS operating system.
Cons
I cannot think of any cons for Pixelmator Pro.
